About Sharon Crow
Sharon Crow is self-proclaimed political hack having spent more than twenty years as a higher education lobbyist/administrator resulting in integral involvement and interest in Florida politics and “the process of legislating”. She retired as a Senior Vice President from Daytona State College located in Daytona Beach, FL three years ago.
Since retiring she has continued as a government affairs consultant, a higher education consultant, and investing and assisting in the development of esports tournaments and related industries. Having considerable experience in writing over her higher education career, she is now branching out into writing about topics, opinions and politics in this BLOG site.
As an avid reader, particularly of mysteries, occult, history and current events, she has also started writing her first fictional murder mystery.
Sharon also has some interesting and unusual insights and strong feelings that she will share with her readers from time to time. She is married to a retired police chief and is the proud mother of a grown son with a Juris Doctorate degree. The Crow family also includes a black Labrador retriever, an African Gray parrot and three quarter-horses.
Sharon has always maintained a high level of professionalism in working with legislators and staff. She is adept at researching issues and providing advice on legislative strategy. She has established and maintains beneficial relationships with legislators and staff and continuously strives to expand her legislative network. Sharon has learned the legislative process through more than twenty years of hands on experience.
Sharon's background as a higher education lobbyist provides her with extensive knowledge of all of Florida’s education systems from VPK through graduate programs in both the private and public sectors.
Sharon is active in local Chamber of Commerce activities, including the Chamber's Legislative Committee. She engages in and is aware of government trends at local, state and federal levels. Her interest in politics extends to global issues as well.

Sharon’s expertise and tenacity have propelled her to successful outcomes. She has served as the chair of the Association of Florida Colleges Legislative Committee twice and served as the Florida College System's lead lobbyist in several education policy areas. She is an Honorary Lifetime member of the Association and served as the Association's state President among other leadership roles. She maintains certification as a "Designated Professional Lobbyist" in the state of Florida
